This page is a plain-language summary of Travomate Cargo's legal framework: the platform's role, the rules everyone agrees to by using it, and the grounds on which accounts can be actioned. It is the foundation the trust, liability, and dispute policies build on.

Summary, not the Terms of Service

This is a docs-level summary for orientation. It does not replace the full Terms of Service, which are the binding legal agreement and are subject to legal review. Where the two differ, the Terms of Service govern.

Travomate Cargo is a marketplace intermediary. It connects cargo owners with capacity providers and provides the tools to find a match, communicate, and exchange documents.

Travomate Cargo is not:

  • A carrier
  • A freight forwarder
  • A party to the contract of carriage between users

The contract of carriage is agreed directly between the cargo owner and the capacity provider. Travomate provides the venue and the tooling; the transport agreement, and the obligations under it, are between those two parties. The consequences of this for risk and cover are set out in Insurance & Liability.

Acceptable Use

Everyone using Travomate Cargo agrees to use it lawfully and in good faith. In particular, users must not:

  • Post or arrange the shipment of prohibited or restricted goods except as permitted and properly declared
  • Misrepresent cargo, capacity, identity, or business credentials
  • Use the platform to defraud, harass, or endanger another user
  • Attempt to move negotiations off-platform to evade platform records, verification, or safety measures
  • Circumvent, probe, or abuse the platform's technical or access controls

Prohibited and restricted goods carry their own dedicated rules; acceptable use incorporates that list by reference. A dangerous-goods and prohibited-items policy is planned as a companion page. Until it publishes, the general prohibition above applies.

Grounds for Account Action

Travomate may warn, restrict, suspend, or remove an account, and may remove any listing, where a user breaches these terms or the acceptable-use rules. Typical grounds include:

Prohibited activity Posting illicit, sanctioned, or undeclared dangerous goods
Misrepresentation Fake cargo, fake capacity, or falsified verification details
Fraud or non-payment Using the platform to defraud a counterparty
Abuse of other users Harassment, threats, or repeated bad-faith conduct
Repeated cancellations / no-shows Backing out of confirmed arrangements (see Cancellation & No-Show Policy)
Platform abuse Circumventing access controls or safety measures
