Matching Engine
The Travomate Cargo matching engine automatically connects cargo listings with available capacity (and capacity listings with relevant cargo) so both sides of the marketplace find the right fit faster.
How It Works
The engine runs in two directions:
| Direction | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Cargo → Capacity | When a cargo owner posts a shipment, the engine surfaces capacity listings that could carry it |
| Capacity → Cargo | When a provider posts available space, the engine surfaces cargo listings that fit their route and load |
Both sides receive recommendations based on compatibility across several factors.
Matching Factors
The engine weighs the following attributes when generating recommendations:
| Factor | Description |
|---|---|
| Route | Origin and destination must overlap or be compatible |
| Date | Cargo ready date and capacity departure date must align |
| Weight | Available weight capacity must accommodate the cargo weight |
| Volume | Available CBM must accommodate the cargo volume |
| Cargo type | Some transport types are restricted by cargo category |
What Happens After a Match
- Both parties are notified of the suggested match
- They can review each other's full listing details
- They connect via the built-in messaging system to negotiate and confirm details
- Once agreed, documents can be exchanged directly in the platform
Phase 2: Freight Marketplace
In Phase 2, cargo owners will be able to request quotes from multiple providers simultaneously, compare offers side by side, and accept a proposal directly within the platform. See Roadmap.
